Coffee with Cassandra: Coats for a comfortable Christmas

Christmas Coffee with Cassandra

Before you start your workday, enjoy your morning coffee with brew from Methodist Healthcare Ministries. This is your daily dose of stories that speak to the heart of our organization, paired with your favorite cup of joe!

Earlier this month, some of us in South Texas were treated to a truly white Christmas. Snow fell across the region to the delight of many children—but in turn, it served as a reminder that not all kids are blessed with a coat to keep them warm.

I spoke with Alicia Herrera, front office supervisor and Debra Burton-Ibarra, social work case manager at our School Based Health Center at Schertz Elementary. They shared how the clinic was inspired to collect coats for children during this special time of the year. Tune in to also hear from a few of the children who received coats and how it made them feel.
